When people think of laser technology, there are three terms that come up very often: expensive, dangerous and complex. However, that does not have to be the case. With the right equipment and expertise, laser technology is absolutely safe, cost-effective and offers a very wide spectrum of possibilities.

What can you do with laser technology?
Connect
With laser technology you can connect two of the same or different materials together in different ways: welding, sealing, soldering, etc.
Adjust
With laser technology you can change the surfaces of materials: roughen or smoothen, create thermal barriers, change absorption, etc.
Remove
With laser technology you can remove materials in all kinds of ways and down to a microscopic level: drilling, milling, cutting, selective removal of layers, cleaning, etc.
Modify
Laser technology allows you to modify the structure of materials in various ways: shaping, hardening, recrystallising, oxidising, splitting, etc.
Can laser offer a solution for your challenge?

Laser technology has a number of important advantages over classical solutions. For example, a laser is always contactless: there is no contact between the product and the tool. In other words: you should not take into account the wear of tools or materials.
In addition, a laser makes it possible to work in an extremely controlled and very accurate manner – think of micrometers. A laser can also be used to perform certain actions in places that are difficult to reach with conventional tools.
Other advantages: a laser can work very quickly and laser technology is widely applicable. Laser technology offers an answer to many challenges. And not unimportant: lasers are cool of course.

How do you choose the right laser?
Wavelength
The wavelength has an influence on the interaction with the material. A difference in wavelength causes a different reaction or effect. Thanks to our different laser sources, we can handle all kinds of wavelengths: ultraviolet, green, NIR 940-1060 and IR/CO2 10600.
Pulse duration
Pulse duration has an impact on the precision and also determines the interaction with the material. Our laser technology allows both continuous beams and pulse duration. It can vary from a millisecond (one thousandth of a second) to a picosecond (one trillionth of a second).
Spot size
The spot size allows to determine the intensity of the laser. The more bundled, the more energy. With our laser sources we can vary in spot size from a few millimeters to a micrometer (one thousandth of a millimeter).
