Design is the indispensable step between an idea or concept and the actual construction of a machine or part. It is a crucial stage to determine the success of a project.
When people think of design, they quickly think of what a machine or product looks like. That is aesthetic design.
That is certainly not unimportant, but more crucial is functional design: how a machine or product works and is used. That is where our main focus lies.
The different steps in the design process
User specifications
User specifications determine concrete expectations: what should the machine be able to do, how and by whom should it be operated, how efficient should it be, etc.
Functional specifications
The functional specifications are very concrete and determine the possible end result. They form the basis for the concept, an initial 3D design and budget estimate. Then it's up to you to give the green light.
Detailed 3D design
Once you have approved the budget, we make a detailed 3D design with a number of important calculations that have an impact on the operation.
Design review & approval
During the creation of the detailed 3D design, there are at least two design reviews. At those moments, we ask you for your input and feedback to achieve the right end result.
Extensive 2D design
The approved 3D design is converted to extensive 2D design that is later used to effectively build the machine, product or part.
Documentation & certification
The last step is certainly not unimportant. Before the end result can be put into use, a number of legal conditions must be met: inspections, certificates, documentation, etc.
